What is Face Reading?

Think! by Lyn Victoria ©

There are many books on Face Reading, you can find them easily.  But all these books only focus on the tangible aspects—what kind of nose, what kind of bone structure, what kind of eyebrows and eyes, or what kind of mouth. We like to invite you to dive further beyond the appearance:

「形而上 而不知 形而下」

The physical and the metaphysical are interconnected,

and one should not ignore either in favour of the other.

形而上 (Physical Form): This refers to the "physical" or "concrete" realm — the tangible being, the shape, the color, the objects, actions, and phenomena that we can see, touch, and directly experience. It is the sensory perception, and practical reality.

形而下 (Spiritual Form): This refers to the "metaphysical" or "abstract" realm — things beyond the physical, tangible world. In Taoism and Confucianism, it is the fundamental, often invisible principles or ideas that govern life, such as the Way (Dao), or the underlying nature of reality. It represents that of which cannot be directly perceived with the senses but can be understood or intuited.

而不知 (Not Knowing): This means "but not understanding" or "not knowing." Here, ir presents a disconnectedness between the Exterior Form and the Interior Spirit.

When we want to recognise talent, character, and understand people, we will need to go beyond the superficial structure, and look at the Harmony of the Physical and the Spiritual. This is what will constitutes an accurate composition of a Good Face Read. We will need to assess a person's demeanor, expressions of the eye, and his overall composition

「神气」

Aura

「眼神」

Spirit of the Eye

「仪态」

Composition

What determines success and fame? Many books on Face Read, say success and fame are determined by the nose—its shape, the mouth, or the forehead. Would you agree your face, is the factor to success? Or is it more?

功名看「气宇」

Bearings

Bearings, it is the integrated composition of a person's posture and expression —what kind of posture they have and what kind of expression is in their eyes, when they are in two states— state of stillness, and states of movement. This is the part, that is beyond what books can write—out, because it has to be observed, and understood by heart.
